Mom and 2 daughters missing from Midtown apartment for a week, police say

US

Police said a young mother and her two daughters have been missing from their Midtown apartment building for a week, and are asking the public to look out for them.

NYPD officials said 16-year-old Augustina Muntean, her 3-year-old daughter Gloria Muntean, and her 1-month-old daughter Florida Muntean were last seen leaving their building on East 44th Street and Third Avenue around noon on Aug. 23.

There was no indication that any kind of dispute or incident caused them to leave, or that the girls have gone missing before, police said.

Police said Augustina Muntean is about 5’3”, 150 pounds, and has long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a red shirt, a long black and white skirt, and black sandals.

Police encourage anyone with information about the family to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips via the Crime Stoppers website.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
