Police said the suspect in Tuesday’s “prowler” incident had black fabric covering his entire face, with no holes for his eyes or mouth.

Boston police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a recent “prowler” incident in Brighton near Boston College.

The incident occurred at about 9:23 p.m. Tuesday near 17 Gerald Road, according to a Boston Police Department news release. The neighborhood has been a target for break-ins in the past, with the Boston College Police Department issuing a community alert in February to warn of “several off-campus residential burglaries that have occurred during the evening, and early morning hours” around Gerald Road.

In March, Boston police also arrested a man accused of peeping into apartments in Brighton’s nearby Oak Square neighborhood.

Police said the suspect in Tuesday’s incident is a man who was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, thick gray gloves, light gray pants, and black and gray sneakers with white soles and a white logo on the sides. He allegedly had black fabric covering his entire face, with no eye or mouth openings.

According to NBC10 Boston, one of the residents was cutting through the home’s backyard when she spotted someone looking through her windows. The person fled around the side of the house, according to NBC10. Several of the woman’s roommates, all BC students, were home at the time, the news outlet reported.

“If she wasn’t walking home, none of us would have known he was peering into our windows,” one of the roommates, Kayla Schrann, told NBC10.

Police urge anyone with information to contact detectives at 617-343-4256. Community members can also submit tips anonymously by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
