ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Keshawn Dixon, who faces two murder charges and 13 aggravated assault charges in the shooting that happened during Round Rock’s Juneteenth celebration, “had an extensive history” with the Round Rock Police Department (RRPD), according to his newly released arrest affidavit.
Authorities first arrested Dixon on July 6 on a deadly conduct charge, a third-degree felony. New court documents reveal how police believe they have tied him to additional crimes from that night.

The shooting happened at Old Settlers Park on June 15 following a feud between two rap groups, according to RRPD. Two mothers – both innocent bystanders – died. Fourteen others were injured. Court records show at least one of them was also involved in the fight that prompted the gunfire.
Dixon’s affidavit noted the 18-year-old has been arrested before on multiple violent offenses including robbery, terroristic threat, assault and evading arrest. He is also a “documented gang member,” according to police.
Evidence: Shell casings, witness accounts, social media posts
During their investigation, police found a group of 12 shell casings on the ground near the vendor area of the park. Multiple witnesses told RRPD they saw and heard gunshots come from the direction of the vendor trucks.
According to Dixon’s affidavit, people were shot near or east of the vendor area, indicating gunfire came “from the vendor area toward the stage where numerous individuals were watching the concert.”
One witness told police she knows Dixon, and that Dixon’s mother told her Dixon “pulled out guns and started shooting.”
Police said that same witness showed them an Instagram story post of Dixon holding a gun with another gun in front of him. Additionally, about two weeks later, police said Dixon and his brother posted another video of them pointing guns at the camera.
Police obtained a subsequent search warrant after Dixon’s initial arrest. While searching his home, they found a gun in Dixon’s bedroom. Investigators said they ran ballistic testing, and the group of shell casings found on the scene matched that firearm.
“Dixon, who is currently in custody at the Williamson County Jail on a charge of deadly conduct related to the shooting, will remain in custody as these new and enhanced charges are brought against him,” RRPD said. “The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.”
