2 teens arrested in connection with shooting that injured 5 in Dorchester

The two 17-year-olds are facing multiple gun charges in connection with the shooting.

Two 17-year-olds have been charged in a shooting that injured five people, including an 11-year-old child, in Dorchester last month.

On July 10, Boston police responded to the area of 10 Greenwood St. for a report of multiple people shot, and at the scene, they found five victims suffering from gunshot wounds, including an 11-year-old child. All five people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals

Boston police said officers arrested one of the teenagers on firearm charges on Saturday around 12:57 p.m. in the area of Castlegate Road. During the ensuing investigation, detectives determined the teen was one of the suspects wanted in the July 10 shooting. He was charged with firearm, carry without license, firearm without license, carry loaded, ammunition without FID card, firearm, discharge within 500 feet of a building, and five counts of assault and battery with a firearm.

The other 17-year-old was arrested around 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday by members of the department’s Youth Violence Strike Force in the area of 4 Derby Road in Norwood. He was arrested on a warrant out of Dorchester Juvenile Court on charges of firearm, carry without a license, firearm without a license, carry loaded, ammunition without FID card, firearm, discharge within 500 feet of a building, and five counts of assault and battery with a firearm. 

Both teens were arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.
