Mega Millions jackpot soars to $575M after no one matched winning numbers

US

Lottery fever has returned as the Mega Millions jackpot surged to over $570 million after no one matched all the winning numbers on Friday.

The estimated jackpot for Tuesday night’s drawing is $575 million – the ninth-largest prize in the game’s history.

If there is a single winner, they can choose between a one-time lump sum or annuity payments.

The last Mega Millions jackpot was won on June 4 by a lottery player from Illinois, who claimed the $552 million prize. Before that, a lottery player from New Jersey won $1.128 billion on March 26.

Californians interested in participating in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing must get their tickets before 7:45 p.m. The drawing will begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets for all draw games can be purchased at lottery retailers across the state. The winning numbers for all the draw games will also be posted to the California Lottery website.
