RFK Racing, a staple in the NASCAR Cup Series since its rebranding from Roush Fenway Racing in 2022, has been a topic of speculation with co-owner Brad Keselowski at the helm. Recent remarks by Keselowski have fueled further speculation about the team’s expansion plans, including the possibility of adding a third full-time charter.
During a recent press event, Keselowski addressed the persistent rumors surrounding the potential growth of RFK Racing. While he didn’t set a definitive timeline, his optimism was palpable. “Not today but hopefully soon,” Keselowski stated in conversation with Bob Pockrass, hinting at the future expansions that might take place.

More intriguing was his commentary on the flexibility of their expansion strategies. Despite not committing to a full-time third car this year, Keselowski is open to the idea:
“I would say anything’s on the table. We did this year, not full-time. … Nothing’s off the table.”
The discussion about expanding to a third full-time charter comes at a time when the team has seen substantial successes. Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher, driving the No. 6 and No. 17 cars, respectively, have secured four race wins combined since the onset of the 2023 season.
The team also showcased the No. 60 car in select races with different drivers, including David Ragan and Cam Waters, with Joey Hand impressively finishing P4 at the Chicago Street Race.
Adding to the speculation is the potential for new sponsorships which could support the addition of a third car. Pockrass shared insights into the sponsorship landscape.
“RFK Racing is in the running to get the Kroger sponsorship for 2025, and if so, could possibly start a third full-time car,” revealed Pockrass. “Brad Keselowski said on Aug. 23 about being ready to start a third full-time car: ‘Not today but hopefully soon.’ He even left the door open to run a third car unchartered.
“Kroger has previously been a sponsor of Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece, and had good relationships with both when they drove for JTG Daugherty Racing.”
The potential partnership with Kroger could provide the financial backing necessary to support this expansion, thereby improving RFK Racing’s competitiveness and presence in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Keselowski’s vision for the team not only involves immediate success but also positions RFK Racing as a dynamic competitor ready to adapt and expand into the sport.
