APD seeking information from July hit-and-run crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is offering up to $1,000 for anyone with information about a Burnet Road hit-and-run incident from mid-July.

The hit-and-run crash happened just before 1 a.m. on July 17 in the 10700 block of Burnet Road, near the intersection of Burnet Road and Braker Lane. Early investigative work from APD found the suspect’s vehicle was driving southbound when they hit the victim.

The driver didn’t stop to render aid, and the victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, per APD.

The suspect’s vehicle is a 2015 to 2017 ruby red Ford Mustang with damages sustained to the driver side’s headlamp.

Those with information related to the crash are asked to share their tip with the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by calling 512-472-8477 or online. Tips can be shared anonymously.

APD is also offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone whose information leads to an arrest.
