Jason Brownlee must prove worthy of Jets wideout spot in preseason finale

US

Three things to watch in the Jets’ final preseason game against the Giants on Saturday night.

1. Second-year receiver Jason Brownlee has come on strong recently in training camp.

Can he add to it in the game?

Brownlee is fighting for a roster spot in a deep receiver room.

The Jets may end up keeping seven receivers on the roster and Brownlee is fighting for one of those last spots.

2. Takk McKinley has been one of the surprises of training camp.

The former first-round pick has shown good explosion and has impressed the coaches.

The defensive line room is another deep one for the Jets and McKinley could help his chances of making the team with a big outing against the Giants.

3. Everyone around the Jets is raving about their running backs.

Breece Hall, Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis have all had strong training camps.

Where does that leave Israel Abanikanda, a 2023 fifth-round pick?

He likely will get plenty of carries Saturday as he tries to make the team as the fourth back.
