WCSO said the 18-year-old driver of the vehicle denied consent for a search, so a K-9 unit was called to the scene.

According to officials, K-9 partner Kato arrived and performed a sniff around the vehicle, giving a positive alert.

“Based on the K-9’s alert, the deputy conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle,” WCSO said.

Inside the vehicle, law enforcement found approximately 124.1 pounds of marijuana and $2,071 in U.S. currency.

“This seizure is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking in the area,” WCSO said.

As of Friday, the investigation remained ongoing, according to officials.
