A brother-sister duo is at the center of a viral sensation as their mom captured a heartwarming moment from the passenger seat.
Carley Herro shared the short clip of her 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter reaching out to hold each other’s hands while they were sitting in the back of the car.
Herro, from Michigan, told Newsweek that the moment caught on camera was completely organic. “I looked into my mirror to see them doing this and had to quickly press record. They kept playing with each other’s hand for a good five minutes, which, in kid time, is an eternity,” the mom of two said.

The viral video was testament to how far the sibling pair had come since Herro’s daughter was welcomed into the family.
Herro told Newsweek that her son initially took some time to warm to his new little sister, but over time, their relationship has blossomed: “He has been sharing his toys with her so good! He likes to hug her and hold her hand every once in a while,” Herro said.
He always makes sure to say “she’s awake” when he hears her get up, the mom added.
Herro’s video struck a chord with other parents who are also witnessing their children’s bond grow. The clip, accompanied by the text overlay “just wait until they hold hands in the back seat,” has since gone viral, amassing over 8.1 million views since July.
“When one of my twin’s cries, the other reaches out to hold her hand,” one Instagram user commented, while another wrote: “Dang is this what baby fever feels like? Ugh their little hands.”
“It’s seriously the best day when this happens,” user @ceraparsons posted.
One mom who is pregnant with her second baby expressed her excitement for moments like this.
Speaking to the reaction online, Herro, who goes by @carlygoodmenu on Instagram, told Newsweek how it went completely viral.
“People love it because it’s a more positive take on the ‘just wait’ comment parents like to tell you when they’re trying to ‘warn’ you about something,” she said.
Herro added that it seemed to resonate with fellow parents because it’s a snapshot into some positive moments to look forward to.
Another Instagram user shared: “I tried to hold my sister’s hand and she cried because I was touching her. A few minutes later she cried because I moved away from her.”
