A Queens man accused of killing a pedestrian on Christmas Day in 2019 is in police custody after five years on the run and an international search effort, officials said.

U.S. marshals arrested Ravindra Dharamjit, 26, in Guyana on Thursday and extradited him to Florida, according to an NYPD spokesperson. The NYPD’s regional fugitive task force brought him back to New York.

Police said Dharamjit, who was driving a gray Toyota truck, struck and killed Ainsley Dalrymple at around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 25, 2019 as he was crossing 114th Street and Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park.

Police said they found Dalrymple, who had severe head and body trauma, laying between two parked cars. He was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital.

Dharamjit was charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide shortly before midnight on Thursday, according to police. His attorney information was not immediately available.
