Man wounded overnight when leaving at restaurant in the West Loop neighborhood – Chicago Tribune

A 42-year-old man was shot multiple times when he was leaving a restaurant overnight in the West Loop neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 3 a.m., the victim was walling out of the White Palace restaurant in the 1100 block of Canal Street when someone open fire, striking him multiple times, Chicago police said. The restaurant nearby the United Center where the DNC is being held.

The gunmen fled the scene after wounding the victim, who was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody, and detectives are investigating.
