GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — Clear The Shelters, a pet adoption and donation campaign, helps find homes for animals in need. The 2024 event is underway and runs through Sept. 10.

KXAN Mike Rush and Avery Travis talk with Georgetown Animal Shelter’s Animal Control Supervisor Angela Jones, who introduces Blossom, a puppy ready for adoption, for the Clear the Shelter campaign.

Georgetown Animal Shelter currently has 41 dogs and 33 cats, which exceeds its capacity.

Jones said the shelter relies on foster programs and volunteers to help manage the situation, and it also offers spay/neuter vouchers to help adopters with their new pet.

The shelter will soon merge with the Williamson County shelter, which Jones said should help manage operations.
