Looking to our parents as we worry about aging is a time-honored tradition—and one woman seems to have hit the lottery.
A video on TikTok posted by Emily (@emgelinajolie) has gone viral after she posted a clip of her parents looking very youthful in midlife. Since the footage was posted on August 20, it has received over 2 million views and more than 300,000 likes, with many users stunned at her parents’ appearance.
“I’m not scared about aging because these are my parents in their late 40s, early 50s after having six children,” Emily captioned the video.

The clip shows Emily’s mother and father entering an elevator while her mom blows her a kiss. The couple, as promised, look remarkably youthful.
Viewers in the comments immediately took note—and some had ideas about why the two looked so effortless. Some said it was happiness, or the peace in knowing you have found a compatible life partner.
“Happiness keeps you young. They are so cuuuute,” @laylatif wrote.
“When you marry the right person you age like a fine wine,” @jenjen00001 wrote.
“I can see light through their eyes,” @sh_95_1 wrote. “Am sure they have good heart. This is why they look younger.”
But others had a more material analysis of the couple’s looks, saying that financial comfort has limited the physical impacts of stress and exhaustion.
“It’s wealth,” @itsnuriag1 wrote. “Look how radiant and stress free they are.”
“This is financial freedom, doesn’t have any stress and genetics,” @niv.ea6 wrote. “Not a bad thing, they look amazing.”
“Sometimes I want my mom to look this good at her age, but then I remember all the long…shifts and work she does so I look good,” @vivienn564 wrote. “Love her so much.”
‘Choose Wisely’
There are some clues on Emily’s TikTok page about why her parents might look so youthful—some of the commenters may indeed be right about the love the two share.
In another viral video, with over 5 million views, Emily shared a moment between her parents in which her mother is sitting on her father’s lap while the two share headphones. After a moment, her mother laid her head on his shoulder, and the two appeared cozy and blissful.
“A reminder to choose wisely,” Emily captioned the video. “Mum and dad after 26 years of marriage.”
People in the comments proved to be fans of Emily’s parents, saying that they were touched by the display of love after so many years.
“I hope you know the little bit of healing you’re giving to us who never saw this growing up,” @charleygwilson wrote.
