AUSTIN (KXAN) — Folding a burrito correctly is hard. Voting for Anderson or McCallum in the Taco Shack Bowl spirit competition is not.

It’s the 23rd installment of the football rivalry between the schools five miles apart, but before the Trojans and Knights step onto the gridiron to kick off the season Thursday at House Park, the cheer squads need to settle things.

It’ll be an early start to game day for the cheerleaders as they hold pep rallies at their respective Taco Shack locations during the KXAN News Today broadcast. Anderson’s rally will be at the Taco Shack on West Anderson Lane while McCallum’s is on North Lamar Boulevard.

KXAN will be doing live shots and interviews all morning from both locations. Voting is open from now until 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, and the winner will be announced on-air during the broadcast.
