AUSTIN (KXAN) — The University Co-op, a not-for-profit that gives course material scholarships for Longhorns, announced the completion of its renovated and remodeled store.

“There’s been a lot of anticipation during the renovation,” said Co-op president and CEO, Cheryl Phifer. “We’re excited to share our new experience with the Longhorn community this fall.”

The store, located off Guadalupe Street, was remodeled to help improve the shopping experience and generate more funds, according to The Co-op. The renovation began in February and was completed in phases to allow the store to remain open.

“The new in-store experience features new flooring, lighting, paint, signage, and fixtures, and new shopping collections including an expansive, floor-to-ceiling hat wall, experiential custom shop, a one-stop-shop for Longhorn x lululemon, and a better brands shop featuring elevated brands,” the release said.

The Co-op said it would host a Renovation Celebration in-store Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. The celebration will also include visits with current athletes, food, free drinks for fans 21+ and freebies.

More than 6,500 UT students received a scholarship from The Co-op this academic year, according to the not-for-profit.
