Investing in AI? Look at actively managed ETFs, strategist says

US

All eyes will be on Nvidia next week when the chip giant reports its second quarter results after the market close on August 28.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management Chief ETF strategist Jon Maier joins Wealth! to give insight into the best ways to play the semiconductor space with ETFs.

Maier begins by reminding how early on AI still is: “We’re in the beginning stages of generative AI and a broad-based ETF that has exposure to a swath of names, I think is certainly a way to go to diversify your exposure.”

Maier believes that since AI has so many components, such as the need for power, the broad-based approach could be found in with “an active management approach is really the way to go. So if you look in the growth area, you look at an active manager, they are going to have exposure to semiconductor names and the ecosystem surrounding it and all the companies that provide data for generative AI.”
