Get set for a hot Tuesday around Southern California but forecasters are calling for a cooling trend to arrive later this week.
“Today will be the hottest day of the week,” KTLA’s Ginger Chan said as much of the region braces for triple-digit temperatures.
Daytime highs between 100 and 105 are expected across parts of the western San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and Antelope Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
Riverside and Ontario will also reach over 100 degrees in the Inland Empire with Palm Springs topping out at 115 on Tuesday.
Temperatures will cool some on Wednesday but the real break arrives Thursday with below-normal highs.
“For Thursday morning … that’s when things will start to cool down. You’ll really feel those cooler temperatures and we may start seeing more of an onshore flow with a little more cloud cover along the coast,” Ginger said.
Forecasters are calling for the possibility of monsoonal moisture reaching Southern California this weekend with less than a 10% chance of thunderstorms.
