He said the AirPods have been in Denver, Iowa, South Carolina, Utah and even New York City.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — It’s an incredible and unique story of lost and found, and never giving up hope.

Ed Aten lost his AirPods at Burning Man and was determined to find out what became of them.

It didn’t happen days or weeks ago, but years ago now.

But he found them!

“A nice woman came to the door she said “hello” and I said, ‘you know this is going to be really weird, but two years ago at Burning Man. I lost my AirPods and I was curious, if by any chance you might know where the AirPods are or if you’ve had anyone from Denver recently arrive at your house,’ and she said *gasp* ‘it’s my son,” he said on social media.

Aten said he was at Burning Man in 2022. But he had to leave early since his father-in-law was sick with pancreatic cancer.

“We thought he was going to be okay, but I had to leave last minute, and I just kind of shuffled out of town to get back to be with him. And clearly didn’t pack well enough and left those AirPods behind,” he said in an interview with ABC7’s Zach Fuentes.

Aten said he has been tracking his AirPods through his Apple app. And those AirPods have been around.

He said the AirPods have been in Denver, Iowa, South Carolina, Utah and even New York City.

So, how did Aten reunite with his beloved AirPods? And what did he do with them?
