BART train evacuated Oakland’s MacArthur station due to smoke and potential fire, agency says

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — BART announced a major delay due to an equipment problem on one of its trains at Oakland’s MacArthur station on Monday.

There are reports of smoke and a possible fire on a train, BART told ABC7.

This happened between the MacArthur and 19th Street BART stations.

All passengers have safely been evacuated.

BART said there was no power at the MacArthur station, but as of 3:50 p.m., the station is reopening to passengers on platforms 2 and 4.
