An erratic driver in a suspected stolen vehicle was arrested Friday night after fleeing authorities in a dangerous chase.
The suspect, in a white Kia Soul, drove the wrong way, hit speeds of over 70 miles per hour on surface streets and ran through red lights in the Inglewood area.
The driver collided with at least one other vehicle while swerving erratically, cutting cars off and narrowly missing other vehicles and pedestrians.
The pursuit began around 4:15 p.m. as the suspect hit the 405, 91 and 110 Freeways before hitting surface streets and neighborhoods in Compton, Lawndale, Hawthorne, Inglewood and Westmont.
At around 5:10 p.m., while stuck in traffic near Compton Avenue and East 92nd Street, the female driver exited the car and began running away on foot.
She was seen constantly looking over her shoulder before slowing down and attempting to hitchhike a ride from passing vehicles in a neighborhood.
She continued walking several blocks before entering an apartment complex at 9547 Compton Avenue in Watts.
Ground units from Los Angeles Police and California Highway Patrol arrived at the building and surrounded the property. Officers were also seen interviewing a group of bystanders gathered at the entrance.
Authorities eventually entered the apartment building, located the woman hiding on the second floor and took her into custody.
She sustained some type of injury. Officers placed her into an ambulance and she was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Footage of the chase can be seen in the video player above.
