Man shot and killed in Grand Boulevard, police say

A man was found overnight Friday in Grand Boulevard with gunshot wounds and later pronounced dead, according to Chicago Police.

A witness told the police that the 28-year-old man had been walking on the sidewalk near the 4500 block of South Champlain Avenue at about 12:29 a.m. when he was shot multiple times. The Chicago Fire Department treated the victim at the scene and took him to the University of Chicago hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead, police say.

There are no suspects in custody, and detectives are investigating.
