The Denver Police Department is investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman whose body was found in the City Park West neighborhood as a homicide.
Police issued a crime alert on Friday about the homicide of Monet Grace Mckittrick, nicknamed “Josie,” asking for help from the public in its investigation.
On Wednesday, she was found dead with signs of trauma near East 16th Avenue and North High Street, police told The Denver Post on Friday. It was originally investigated as an outdoor death after it was reported around 5:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of 16th Avenue.
Police are working with the Office of the Medical Examiner to figure out the cause of Mckittrick’s death. Spokespeople for the medical examiner didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
Investigators have not yet made any arrests. They’re asking anyone with information to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
