VIDEO: School buses destroyed by fire in Inland Empire

US

Multiple school buses were destroyed in a fire outside the San Jacinto Unified School District offices on Thursday.

A School District spokesperson said the burning buses, which are provided to the SJUSD through a contract with the Hemet Unified School District, were extinguished by Cal Fire, “resulting in quick containment and minimizing loss.”

The spokesperson did not say exactly how many buses were affected, but footage from the scene showed at least two buses fully engulfed in flames, as well as tongues of fire licking up the side of another bus.

The blaze did not injure anyone or damage any structures or property outside of the vehicles.

“Additionally, transportation of students was unaffected,” the spokesperson added.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
