Man, 30, shot and killed while getting into his car on South Side: CPD

CHICAGO — A 30-year-old man was shot and killed while getting into his vehicle Friday morning on the city’s South Side.

The shooting happened around 6:40 a.m. in the 7900 block of South Wabash Avenue after unknown armed offenders approached the man and fired shots.

The man was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the offenders fled the scene. No one is in custody.

Area Two Detectives are investigating.
