A man who allegedly attacked a woman at an LA Metro station in Pasadena and then threw her into oncoming traffic on the 210 Freeway has been charged with attempted murder.

On Monday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced 33-year-old Juan Pablo Flores has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of mayhem.

Flores is suspected of attacking the victim on Aug. 7, around 5:30 a.m. at the Allen Metro station along the Metro A Line.

Authorities say Flores assaulted the woman, threw her onto the train tracks and then onto the carpool lane of the adjacent freeway.

The woman was transported to the hospital and Flores was arrested shortly after.

In a news release issued Monday, L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón said, “No one should have to endure such brutality, and everyone deserves to go about their day without fear for their safety.”

Flores was booked into the Men’s Central Jail in Chinatown and is being held on $2 million bail.

He was expected to be arraigned on Tuesday. If convicted as charged, Flores could spend the rest of his life in prison.
