Central Austin apartment catches fire Tuesday morning, no one hurt

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Central Austin apartment caught fire Tuesday morning after a fire was found between two walls. The apartment was located in the 700 block of W 21st Street.

The Austin Fire Department said the call came in at 1:20 a.m.

AFD said there were no reported injuries. People were evacuated from units.

Austin Fire said it called an additional alarm for staffing due to the elevated humidity and temperature. A total of 84 firefighters responded to the incident.

AFD said it is investigating the cause of the fire.
