AUSTIN (KXAN) — We’ve all heard the phrase, “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity.” As it turns out, it’s both — and it’s called the heat index.

The heat index is a crucial concept when it comes to understanding how our bodies respond to hot weather. It all boils down to sweat.
