Pedestrian killed in north Attleborough crash

A 62-year-old man from Hull was struck and killed by a car Sunday morning in North Attleboro. 

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, North Attleboro Police responded to 178 Commonwealth Ave. at around 9:24 a.m. for a report of a motor vehicle hitting a pedestrian. 

Once on scene, first responders found the victim, later identified as Daniel Stober, and rushed him to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Stober was then taken by medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:16 a.m. 

A 24-year-old Attleboro man was driving a 2013 GMC Acadia when it struck Stober. The driver’s name was not released. 

The driver remained on the scene and attempted to help Stober. Police interviewed the driver, but he was not arrested. 

An investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding the crash remains under investigation.
