Police are investigating after a number of shots were fired into a Braintree home Sunday morning.

The incident happened in the 2000 block area of Washington Street, according to Braintree police. Officials only said that it appeared to be a targeted or isolated incident and not a random act, without releasing more details.

When reached by phone Monday morning, a Braintree police spokesperson did not have any updates.

Residents of the areas told NBC 10 Boston that one burst of gunfire rang out around 5 a.m., followed by another around 7:45 a.m. Sunday. About 25 shots were reportedly fired in total.

Video taken at the scene by NBC 10 Boston showed local police and State Police investigators surveying the area Sunday, where more than 30 evidence markers were laid out near the home’s shattered front door.

There have been no reports about injuries or criminal charges being filed.
