Vehicle sought in connection with Near West Side hit-and-run

CHICAGO – Chicago police are searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash on the Near West Side back in late July.

Police said just before 6 p.m. Friday, July 26, a 45-year-old man was riding a scooter across Ruble Street near UIC when a black Dodge Charger hit him in the 600 block of West Taylor Street.

The victim was seriously injured, according to investigators.

Police described the vehicle as a black Dodge Charger with damage to the front passenger windshield. The vehicle has Illinois license plate number ER88171 and was last seen driving westbound on 71st Street and Halsted Street.
