Gypsy Rose Blanchard reveals she and Ken Urker are having a baby girl

Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed Saturday that she and boyfriend Ken Urker are expecting a baby girl, after posting an Instagram announcement with photos from the couple’s gender reveal party.

The news comes just a month after Blanchard, 33, shared that she was pregnant with her first child and expecting the baby in January 2025.

In the new post, she and Urker can be seen standing together outside, popping a balloon filled with pink confetti, and sporting big smiles as they recorded a video message for the expectant newcomer.

“Sweetie, I’m your mom,” Blanchard says into the camera, followed by Urker adding, “I’m your dad.” They both concluded in unison, “You are a girl!”

Blanchard expressed her excitement in the caption, writing, “Ken and I are over the moon and are so excited to start our family. We’re so thankful for our friends, neighbors, and families who came to our party today! We also want thank ya’ll for your love and support!”

The soon-to-be-parents were previously engaged while Blanchard was incarcerated for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

They broke off their engagement in 2019, and she later married Ryan Anderson in 2022 while still behind bars. However, after her release in December 2023, Blanchard filed for divorce from Anderson the following April, and Urker moved to Louisiana to be closer to her in June.

Reflecting on her upcoming journey into motherhood, Blanchard told People Magazine that she is drawing inspiration from her stepmother, Kristy.

“I want to be kind, that my kids come to me for any kind of advice, just like my stepmother,” Gypsy said. “I have seen how she has parented her children — and I think she’s a kick-ass mom.” She added that she hopes to emulate her stepmother’s balance of support and freedom, allowing her children to pursue their dreams while being there for them when needed.
