Former WWE Champion Prefers Vince McMahon to Triple H

World Wrestling Entertainment is more successful now than ever before. A major reason for this is the current head of creative: Triple H.

While many fans and wrestlers behind the scenes are happy with the change, some people prefer the way things were. This includes a former WWE Champion who may be leaving the company.

During an appearance on the The Laboratory with Paz, former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley explained why he preferred working under Vince McMahon.

“If I say the wrong thing right now,” Lashley laughed. “I had a connection with Vince. Vince understood me. Vince was big on, like, the show. He looked at people that were stars, and he saw that in me. And there were a lot of little nuggets that Vince would give me all the way throughout my career and tell me different things.”

“So Vince just looked at me, he was like, ‘I can tell Bobby works his ass off. I can send him anywhere around the country to represent the company [and] the brand.’ He just looked at me like a star,” Lashley explained. “So I like Vince [in this comparison]. I haven’t really had too much of a connection with Hunter. Hunter has his guys. And I’ve tried to, but we haven’t really worked enough together to get to know each other.”

There’s no doubt that Lashley had more success under McMahon’s creative direction. Before Triple H was in charge, Lashley was a two-time WWE Champion, a two-time ECW World Champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion, and a three-time United States Champion.

Meanwhile, Lashley’s most recent stable, The Hurt Business, The Hurt Business, didn’t reach the same heights under Triple H as it did with McMahon. With the status of his contract being in question, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Lashley head to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), or even New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).

Between these options, it seems likely that Lashley will head over to TNA because he has a history with the organization.

After Lashley was released by WWE in 2008, he soon found himself at TNA as a member of the Main Event Mafia. While there, he would become a four-time TNA/Impact World Heavyweight Champion, a one-time TNA X-Division Champion, and the final TNA King of the Mountain Champion.

Whether Lashley heads to TNA, AEW, Japan, or sticks with WWE, there’s no doubt that the company will be lucky to have him.
