Two 17-year-old boys were injured in separate shootings Saturday morning on the South and West Sides, according to Chicago police.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., a teenage boy was walking in the 8100 block of South Princeton Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said. He was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound to his lower back, police said.
About an hour later, another teen was standing near the sidewalk in the 3800 block of West Chicago Avenue in Humboldt Park when an unknown vehicle approached him, police said. An unknown gunman pulled out a firearm, shooting the boy in his leg, police said. The teen was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was initially listed in good condition.
No suspects are in custody in either case, and police said they are investigating the shootings.
