Here’s the latest on the 49ers’ injuries throughout the 2024 season:

Aug. 9

Defensive end Austin Bryant went on injured reserve after he appeared to hurt his right ankle in practice

Aug. 8

The 49ers placed defensive end Drake Jackson on injured reserve and he is expected to miss the season with a knee injury.

Aug. 7

All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner missed practice with a foot issue, but he said it was “nothing major at all.”

Aug. 6

Star running back Christian McCaffrey will miss several weeks of practice with a calf strain. He won’t play in any preseason games, coach Kyle Shanahan said. Fellow running back Elijah Mitchell is also out with a hamstring strain.

Rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall left practice with a shoulder injury he has been battling since the offseason. Punter Mitch Wishnowsky also continues to missed time with knee irritation.

Aug. 2

Veteran tight end Logan Thomas misses practice with a hamstring injury.

July 27

Spencer Burford has a fractured right hand, according to coach Kyle Shanahan, and may undergo surgery. His injury and a knee issue for Jon Feliciano could open the starting job for rookie Dominick Puni.

July 25

Rookie running back Isaac Guerendo strains his hamstring on the first day of practice.

July 24

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles), safety Talanoa Hufanga (ACL), defensive lineman Drake Jackson (knee) open training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

July 16

The 49ers place wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, their first-round pick, on the non-football injury list as rookies report to camp. He reportedly has been dealing with a shoulder injury
