Authorities said they detected evidence on the suspect’s phone during a border search.

A plane lands at Logan International Airport.

Authorities arrested a man at Boston’s Logan Airport on Wednesday and charged him for allegedly possessing and transporting child sexual abuse materials.

Kesler Xavier Saget, of Randolph, flew into Logan from the Dominican Republic. When he landed, a border search revealed the illicit materials on his phone, a statement from the Massachusetts District Attorney said. His phone allegedly showed that Saget, 43, had paid for the material.

Being found guilty of transporting child pornography holds a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years in prison. The maximum sentence is 20 years in prison, five years to life of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. For possessing child pornography, Saget faces a separate sentence of up to 20 years in prison, with the same amount of supervised release and fine.

The statement noted that this case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation.

Representation for Saget declined to comment.
