Crews with the Los Angeles County Fire Department rescued two workers who fell into what appeared to be a container truck on Friday morning, authorities confirmed.

Firefighters responded to a confined space call at about 8:20 a.m. Friday at 4317 Sout Downey Road in Vernon, just south of the L.A. River.

Upon arrival, crews discovered that two people were trapped inside the container. Sky5 overhead of the scene showed the crews working to extricate the pair.

The container appeared to be empty, according to KTLA’s Mike Case.

Both people were successfully removed from the container and were transported to a local hospital. Their injuries were not immediately specified.
