Scott Anderson served in the U.S. Army for 21 years. He’s now the director of UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees. It provides key infrastructure and social services for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Anderson, who served in Afghanistan, described the destruction in Gaza, saying nothing prepared him for the last 10 months.
