CHICAGO – A woman has died after being hit by a semi-truck Tuesday night on the city’s Near West Side.
Chicago police said the crash happened at around 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of South Ashland Avenue and West Roosevelt Road.
According to investigators, the truck was traveling northbound on South Ashland Avenue when the unidentified woman crossed in front of it.
Personnel with the Chicago Fire Department took the woman to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported and the crash remains under investigation.
