Denver broke the daily record high temperature for Aug. 4 with Denver International Airport thermometers topping out at 102 degrees just after 2 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The previous record high for the day was 98 degrees, which Denver reached in 2022, 1981 and 1979.

The Front Range is under a heat advisory for dangerously high temperatures, despite cloud cover and scattered showers, according to NWS forecasters.
