Peacock hosted the ultimate summer barbecue on the Universal Studios Backlot in Los Angeles to celebrate the return of “Bel-Air,” the dramatic reimagination of the iconic sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
The outdoor bash took place on one of the suburban neighborhood sets, which was complete with food trucks offering summer party favorites from Trejo’s Tacos, Earle’s on Crenshaw and Eagle Rock BBQ.
“Bel-Air” cast members Jabari Banks, Coco Jones, Adrian Holmes, Jimmy Akingbola, Olly Sholotan, Akira Akbar, Jordan L. Jones and Simone Joy Jones were in attendance.
However, a major energy shift occurred when the Fresh Prince walked into the party.
Will Smith, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, arrived donning a tan two-piece Prada set perfect for the early-August evening.
Seated in a special cabana, fans flocked to snap a selfie.
In the meantime, DJ Meel and host Charles Kuykendoll teased a special performance. Moments later, Jones took the stage to perform her new single “Here We Go.”
The Grammy-award-winning singer later noted that the warm weather and barbecue needed a song to fit the vibe. From there the beat of Smith’s 1991 hit “Summertime” hit the speakers and the “Independence Day” actor walked over to the stage to perform the classic alongside Jones.
Smith has recently returned to music.
In June he performed his new song “You Can Make It,” a gospel rap song at the BET Awards. In late July he released the single “Work of Art.” He’s set to drop a new album, his first in nearly 20 years, sometime soon.
The “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” star has been busy getting back to work in the studio and on the set following slapgate at the 94th Annual Academy Awards, where Smith infamously slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage.
Season 3 of “Bel-Air” premieres on Aug. 15 only on Peacock with three episodes at launch.
