CHICAGO — The Alley, Chicago’s iconic spot that celebrates counterculture, is up for sale.
The business is currently located at 2620 West Fletcher Street in Avondale but for many years was a landmark on Clark Street in Lakeview.
Axios Chicago and Block Club Chicago report that Mark Thomas, the owner, is looking to sell the business but still hopes to be involved and trademark the name.
After several decades on Clark, and a four year break, The Alley reopened in Avondale in 2020.
