Teens face charges after crashing stolen car in Simi Valley, police say

US

Two teen boys were arrested after they allegedly drove a stolen car from Los Angeles to Simi Valley before crashing it and fleeing into a nearby field Thursday morning.

The boys, whose identities have not been released, and the stolen vehicle were the subject of a Los Angeles Police Department pursuit beginning at about 7:30 a.m.

Beginning in the San Fernando Valley, the vehicle drove to Simi Valley, then to a nearby county area at Santa Susana Pass and Katherine roads, the Simi Valley Police Department said in a news release.

After a crash at Clear Springs Road, the boys fled into a field, though about an hour later, a police officer spotted them walking on Katherine Street.

They were “positively identified as the driver and passenger of the stolen vehicle,” police said, and they were cited for criminal conspiracy and car theft. They were then released to their parents.
