Heatwave in the Northwest and Southeast; Flooding Threats in the Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic, and Southwest

Dangerous heat engulfs much of the country as one heatwave continues in the Southeast and another heatwave intensifies in the Northwest. Scattered strong storms will bring the risk of flash flooding from the Ohio/Tennessee Valley into the Mid-Atlantic and in the Southwest. A tropical depression is likely to form over the Straits of Florida or the eastern Gulf of Mexico near Florida this weekend.
