Team USA’s Simone Biles wins gold in Olympic all-around final

Simone Biles won gold and Suni Lee took home bronze in the all-around final Thursday — a dominating showing by Team USA in a marquee Olympic event.

And they did it in dramatic fashion.

Biles trailed midway through the event but delivered in her final two rotations, while Lee scored just enough in the floor exercise to make the podium.

Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade earned the silver.

It’s Biles’ second gold in the event, and first since 2016. The all-around final was one of five events Biles withdrew from at the Tokyo Olympics three years due to a mental condition known as the twisties.

Lee won the all-around crown in Tokyo.

Biles and Lee led Team USA to a gold medal in the women’s team final on Tuesday.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates
