Suburban man who lives at in-home daycare accused of child pornography possession

GRAYSLAKE, Ill. — A man living at an at-home daycare was charged after allegedly possessing over 1,000 videos and images of child pornography.

Jose Real, 52, of the 1200 block of Chesterfield Lane in Grayslake, was arrested Wednesday after a search warrant was conducted on his home on July 19.

Police said Real lives with a family member who operates an at-home daycare business and allegedly hid his cell phone in a potted plant during the search warrant.

Detectives found it and allegedly over 1,000 videos and images of child pornography, which included infants, was found.

Police allege Real was downloading and sharing the videos.

Sheriff’s detectives are actively investigating to determine if any of the recovered child pornography is linked to the children who were being supervised at the home.

The name is the daycare is Real Daycare, according to police.

DCFS was alerted to the situation, and the daycare is no longer allowed to operate, according to police.

Real is charged with three counts of possession of child pornography. A detention hearing is being held Friday for Real.
