More RTD “slow zones” added as summer repairs move forward

US

Regional Transportation District officials will add 10 mph speed restrictions on several light rail lines as summer construction progresses, the agency said Monday.

“Slow zones” will go into effect at 6 a.m. Tuesday on the E and R lines between County Line and Lincoln stations and the D line between the Oxford/City of Sheridan and Littleton/Downtown stations.

RTD crews are conducting preventative maintenance and track repair work “to address minor issues and surface defects,” district officials said in a news release.

The district lifted “slow zones” on the E and R lines between Orchard and Arapahoe at Village Center stations on Monday and for a small section of the H and R lines north of the Nine Mile station.

A map and maintenance schedule are available online.
