Authorities are investigating after a burned body was found in a field in San Bernardino late Monday night.

According to a spokesperson with the San Bernardino Police Department, officers responded to the corner of Donald and Duffy streets at 10:38 p.m. and located a body that had been burned.

Preliminary information indicates the victim appears to be an adult man, police said.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Multiple evidence markers and yellow tape were seen in the field as police used flashlights to canvass the area for clues.

KTLA 5’s Carlos Herrera described the area as “a remote neighborhood” that lies just north of the 210 Freeway.  Several houses are located across from the field where the body was found, and investigators told Herrera that they will be going door to door looking for surveillance footage later Tuesday morning.

A description of a suspect was not immediately available. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the San Bernardino Police Department.
