Suspect nabbed for stabbing Brooklyn MTA bus driver in neck with bottle

An angry passenger wanted for stabbing a Brooklyn MTA bus driver in the neck with a bottle was nabbed Monday, police said.

Malachi Houston, 27, was arrested for attempted murder for allegedly attacking Isaac Egharevba, 60, about 11:45 a.m. June 8 in East New York.

The victim was operating a B99 bus and nearing Pitkin and Alabama Aves. when he was forced to make a detour, angering the attacker, the victim’s union said last month.

The angry rider stabbed the driver, police said.

Medics rushed the driver to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was treated for a deep cut between his neck and jaw.

The next day the NYPD released surveillance footage of the suspect and asked the public’s help identifying him.

Houston, who lives in East New York, has three prior arrests, police said, most recently for drug possession in May.
