18-year-old shot in robbery near UChicago campus

CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man was shot during a robbery Sunday night near the University of Chicago campus.

The man was walking in the 1400 block of East 57th Street at around 9:15 p.m. when a white sedan stopped near him.

Police believe four males exited the sedan and approached the man. He was robbed of personal belongings and shot in the knee, according to police.

The males returned to the sedan and fled the scene.

The 18-year-old was transported to the University of Chicago in good condition.
